레버쿠젠는 손흥민이 한때 뛰었던 친정팀이다.
토트넘 레버쿠젠 대전을 앞두고 발표된 프리미어 파워랭킹에서 손흥민은 1위에서 9위로 추락했다.

이 랭킹은 영국 스카이스포츠가 작성하고 있다.

공격 포인트와 드리블 성공 횟수 그리고 터치 횟수 등 32개 기록들을 점수로 환산하여 순위를 가린다.

손흥민은 이 랭킹에서 7주차 총 1만1545점으로 전체 1위에 올랐었다.

손흥민의 랭킹이 떨어진 것은 한국 대표팀 차출 등으로 프리미어 출전 횟수가 줄어든 데 영향을 받은 것으로 보인다.

순흥민이 출전한 가운데 한국 대표팀은 2018 러시아 월드컵 최종예선 한국 이란전에서 패했다.

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott has topped this week's Sky Sports Power Rankings. The 27-year-old scored twice in the Gunners' 3-2 win over Swansea to equal his goal tally of five goals from last season.

Team-mates Alexis Sanchez (No 3, down one place), Mesut Ozil (No 5, up 34 places) and Laurent Koscielny (No 7, down four places) also occupy the top 10.

Chelsea's Diego Costa (No 8, up nine places) scored his seventh goal this season during the Blues' 3-0 win over champions Leicester, while Southampton's Charlie Austin (No 10, up 32 places) opened the scoring goal and converted a penalty to secure a 3-1 win over Burnley.

Tottenham's Heung-Min Son excited about Leverkusen return

Tottenham forward Heung-Min Son says Tuesday's Champions League game at his former club Bayer Leverkusen will be a "special night" for him.

The South Korea international was rested for Saturday's 1-1 draw at West Brom but is likely to be back in the side for the match against the club he left to join Spurs for ￡22m in August 2015.

Having arrived in 2013, Son scored 21 goals in 62 games for Leverkusen, and is looking forward to his return.

"It's a special game for me because I played there for two years," said Son on the eve of the Group E encounter.

"I had some great times there and made so many friends also. I am very excited to be going back.

"If I score against them, I will not celebrate. I respect them too much.

"My two years there was a good time for them and also a good time for me. I am really happy for them, I want to show respect."

The 24-year-old Son first broke through at Hamburg, the club he joined when he was just 16, and revealed that he received tips there from former Spurs man Rafael van der Vaart and prolific Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.

"When I was at Hamburg, 17 or 18, Ruud van Nistelrooy signed and he helped me a lot," Son said.

"He saw my first training session and he talked to me, he told me I was a good player. He gave me confidence and I want to thank him for that.

"Also, Rafael van der Vaart came and he helped me.

"He told me more about English football and how tough it was.

"I was only young. I listened to him and tried to learn from what he was saying."
