가상화폐 결국은 소멸, 노벨경제학상 수상자의 불길한 예언… 최종구 금융위원장 발언 쇼크 비트코인 이더리움 리플 흔들

일부 암호화폐는 오르고 일부 가상화폐는 떨어지는 모습이다.
이런 가운데 한국 최종구 금융위원장과 노벨 경제학상 수상자인 미국 예일대 로버트 쉴러 (Robert Shiller)교수의 발언이 암호화폐와 가상화폐 시세에 영향을 주고 있다.

최종구 금융위원장은 한국 법원이 가상화폐를 경제적 가치를 지닌 자산으로 인정한 데 대해 법원 결정이 가상화폐를 화폐나 금융자산으로 인정한 것은 결코 아니라고 밝혔다.

정부로서서는 그 어떤 경우에도 가상화폐를 금융자산이나 화폐로 인정할 수 없다는 것이다.

이런 가운데 2013년도 노벨경제학상 수상자인 로버트 쉴러 교수는 한방송에 나와 비트코인이 결국은 사라질 것이라고 발언해 주목을 끌었다.

로버트 쉴러는 미국 예일대에서 근무하고 있다.

주택과 닷컴버블 사태를 경고한 것으로 유명하다.
그는 지속적으로 암호화폐에 대한 부정적인 전망을 제시하며, "암호화폐는 실패한 화폐실험으로 남을 것"이라고 주장한 바 있다

다음은 가상화폐 소멸을 예언한 로버트 쉴러 교수의 언론 인터뷰 발언 내용

According to the Yale professor, bitcoin could go extinct within the next 100 years.

"Bitcoin won't look anything like it is today. It will have a different name, if it exists," Shiller said Tuesday on CNBC's "Trading Nation." "There will have been many hard forks changing it and changing it. And, it'll be a matter of dispute whether it exists or not."

Even though bitcoin's potential doomsday may feel ages away, it doesn't mean the emerging asset won't continue to struggle. "The one scenario is that something like what happened after 2013 when bitcoin topped $1,000, and then lost 80 percent of its value. It looked like bitcoin was just fading away," he added. "It's so hard to predict these things."

Last December, it hit a record price just shy of $20,000. Weeks later, bitcoin suffered a major blow — sinking to $6,400. It's now trading in the low $7,000s and is still up 233 percent over the past 12 months. "It looks like a bubble," Shiller said.
