1백만 단어를 수록하고 있다는 웹스터사진에도 없다.

어반(Urban)사전에 자주쓰는 말은 아니라는 전제 아래 그 뜻이 나와있다.

그 첫째 의미가 사회 경제적으로 하자있는 이웃들이 많이 몰려 있는 마을을 일컫는다고 되어있다 .

종교적 소수자가 집단적으로 거주하는 마을도 몽키하우스로 부른다.

인종 소수자도 마찬가지다.

예컨대 LA에 한인들이 몰려살고 있다면 현지 쥬류인 백인들 시각에서는 몽키하우스로 부를 수 있다는 뜻이다.
